Atlantic Tech Center’s HVACR Teachers Earn Top Certification

Brian Youngblood and Jim Blackford, teachers for the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating program at Atlantic Technical Center in Broward County, have successfully completed the HVAC Excellence Program and earned the title of Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE).

This title is not easily attained and it demonstrates that a person is at the top of their field. To earn CMHE, an instructor must obtain a passing score of 80% or better on six area specific HVAC CSME exams. Additionally, the instructor must pass the Capstone exam which covers technical education methodologies, principles, and practices that attest to pedagogical skills.

The Certified Master HVACR Educator credential is a terminal certification and the highest credential that can be conferred upon an HVACR educator. Congratulations to Mr. Youngblood and Mr. Blackford for this outstanding achievement; and kudos to Atlantic Technical Center for supporting professional development that enables teachers to prepare their students at the highest level.
