General Information

The Competencies and Skills Required for Teacher Certification in Florida is a publication produced by the Florida Department of Education. It includes a comprehensive listing of the State’s requirements for demonstrating competency and knowledge in the areas of Professional Education, General Knowledge, and the subject areas listed below. The thirteenth edition contains the competencies and skills approved by the State Board of Education in Spring 2008.

Test Information Guides are now available for purchase online. Select the guides you would like to purchase and enter your credit card number. Your order will be downloaded to your computer.

A hard copy of the Competencies and Skills, Thirteenth Edition, can be found at universities and colleges in the library or the College of Education beginning in late Summer 2008.
