Computer-Based Testing

General Information

As an alternative to paper-and-pencil tests, some tests are offered on computer at flexible times and locations throughout the year. The computer-based tests are equivalent to the paper-and-pencil tests in length and difficulty. All of the tests contain only multiple-choice questions. Examinees will be able to preview the questions as well as review and change their answers while taking the test. Examinees will receive a printed unofficial score report at the conclusion of each test. Official score reports will be mailed approximately 2 weeks after the test.

Minimal computer skills are required to complete the computer-based tests. As an examinee, you need to be comfortable with a Windows environment and with how to use a mouse, including clicking, double-clicking, dragging, and scrolling.

For information on registration, fees, payment information, refunds, requesting accommodations, tests currently available, and a list of testing locations, please visit the FTCE/FELE program website at www.fl.nesinc.com. For additional information, please contact the FTCE/FELE Program office at (413) 256-2893 and select option 9 to speak to a customer service representative.

Note: Do not use the application in the FTCE/FELE Registration Bulletin to register for computer-based tests. Registration for tests on computer is ONLY available online.
