As of December 2009, all FTCE/FELE tests are available on computer, and as of January 2010, paper-based testing (PBT) is no longer available. Please refer to the memorandum issued by the Commissioner (PDF) in January 2010 regarding this change. A list of computer-based tests currently available is posted on the FTCE/FELE contractor Web site (to register, select “register now” at the top of that page).We Want to Hear From You!
Testing services, including Test Administrations, for the FTCE are provided by National Evaluation Systems, Inc.Please take a few minutes to fill out our online survey regarding services you have received. The information you provide will be analyzed by Program Managers at the Florida Department of Education and used for improving the FTCE testing system.
FTCE Learning Portal
The FTCE Learning Portal provides information on Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE), including exam overviews, exam length, competencies and skills required for each exam, and test information guides. Information on types of educator preparation programs and links to resources that may help you prepare for FTCE tests are also available.Competencies and Skills, Current and Draft Editions
The Competencies and Skills, Fourteenth Edition, used for the current Florida Teacher Certification Examinations, is available for viewing online.Also available online are the draft competencies and skills for 2 subject areas, to be reviewed by the State Board of Education in Spring 2010. If approved, the draft competencies and skills will be implemented on examinations administered beginning Summer 2010 and printed in the Competencies and Skills Required for Teacher Certification in Florida, Fifteenth Edition.
