I am a State of Florida certified teacher and my area of expertise is foreign language.
I taught French language, literature and linguistics for 13 years, 11 of which have been spent in Florida.
I have taught at both the secondary and university levels, in public and private institutions.
Most notably, I was in Collier County at Naples High School from 1995 through 2003 and at Pine Ridge Middle School from 1995-1997.
At Naples High, I taught all levels of French from level I through AP.
I served on a number of committees including technology, discipline and diversity.
I also sponsored French Honor Society, International Club, and co-sponsored the Junior Class.
Because real world experience is important, I took students to Europe, to state competition, and on numerous field trips for hands-on learning.
My high school students also taught French to our on-campus preschoolers under my supervision.
During this time, I was a member of the Collier County Education Association.
I also served as a Naples High School representative for the CCEA over a period of three years.
Although I teach an elective subject, foreign language is required by most universities for admission.
As a result, I have worked hard to help my students master critical skills required for higher education and assessed on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.
I have used a wide range of technological resources in the classroom both at the secondary and post-secondary levels.
I have been my own webmaster and have used portable technology on a regular basis.
Currently, I am also pursuing a PhD at Florida State University and I serve as a judge representing Florida State University at the annual state high school French competition, Le Congrès de la Culture Française en Floride.
