January 2008
- Ada Belle Winthrop-King Scholarship for French Teachers (Deadline Jan. 10, 2008)
Each year the Winthrop-King Institute for Contemporary French and Francophone Studies at Florida State University offers two high school French teachers in Florida a $6,500 scholarship to spend the month of July in Paris. The scholarships are available to teachers with at least five years of experience teaching French and who teach at least two French courses per year. The application deadline is January 10, 2008. - Toyota Tapestry Grants for Science Teachers (Deadline: Jan. 28, 2008)
Toyota TAPESTRY recognizes outstanding educators who are making a difference by demonstrating excellence and creativity in science teaching. This program offers grants to K–12 science teachers for innovative projects that enhance science education in the school and/or school district. 50 large grants and a minimum of 20 mini-grants, totaling $550,000 in all, will be awarded this year.
November
- High School Physics Teacher Grant (Deadline: Nov. 1, 2007)
The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) encourages high school teachers to experiment and improve on their teaching practices. This grant is given each year to teachers proposing projects with innovative ideas resulting in better teaching practice, increased student understanding and interest, and/or increased enrollment. Awards range from $100-$500.

- Florida Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom (Deadline: Oct. 1, 2007)
Mini-Grant program offers cash awards up to $250 to help educators more effectively integrate agriculture into their curriculum. Agriculture has no subject area boundaries and entries are encouraged in: Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, Science, Environmental Education, or any other subject area, or combination of areas, that effectively integrate key agricultural principles.
September
- Ezra Keats Minigrant Program for Public Schools and Public Libraries (Deadline: Sept. 15, 2007)
This program awards $500 to public schools and libraries for creative arts-related programs. Some examples of funded programs include: ongoing pen-pal projects; art projects culminating in art shows, murals, or quilts; bookmaking; creation and performance of puppet shows. These are only examples, new ideas are welcome. - The Best Buy Teach Award (Deadline Sept. 30, 2007)
This program recognizes creative uses of interactive technology in K-12 classrooms. Winning Teach Award programs focus on kids using technology to learn standards-based curriculum. September 30, 2007. Awards will be announced on February 18, 2008. Awards range from $2,000-$100,000. - Kids in Need Foundation (Deadline: Sept. 30, 2007)
This program provides funds for classroom teachers who have innovative, meritorious ideas. A project may qualify for funding if it makes imaginative use of general teaching aids, approaches the curriculum from a creative angle, or ties nontraditional theories together for the purpose of demonstrating commonalities. Awards range from $500 - $15,000.
