Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides funding to schools so they can provide a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to students throughout their school day.
The goal of the FFVP is to:
- Create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices.
- Expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience.
- Increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption.
- Make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health.
The following school districts have schools that are operating the 2008/2009 program:
- Indian River County
- Manatee County
- Marion County
- Martin County
- Orange County
- Santa Rosa County
